Jennie’s Meadow is comprised of town home clusters on the upper level, with single-family residences down the hill on the two Lobelia Drive cul-de-sacs. The town home area is buffered from the single family area by a 200-foot wide greenbelt that is dedicated to bald eagle habitat. Bald eagles are common in the area and the large conifers serve as perch trees for visiting eagles and peregrine falcons. Deer, coyote, and other prairie wildlife abound. The area supports healthy bird populations, including a variety of finches, hawks, hummingbirds, and the delightful California quail. Major grocery, home supply, and general and specialty retail opportunities are within walking or short driving distance. Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park is accessible by foot or bicycle via the nearby Olympic Discovery Trail. The neighborhood also is near Clallam Transit bus routes.
The development incorporates several legally-bound protected spaces throughout, including Private Park/Open Space, Passive Recreation/Open Space, and Core Protection Zone and Wildlife Buffer/Open Space.
Town Homes. These shared-wall homes are targeted to the adult demographic, with both external building and front and rear yard maintenance provided by the Jennie’s Meadow Homeowners Association. These town homes are not condominiums; there is no joint ownership of any property or common area. The layout of the lots around a central common green promotes walking, bicycling, and other light recreation.
Single Family Homes. Each single-family home has a fenced back yard that abuts dedicated open space tracts. Landscape maintenance for front yards is provided by the Jennie’s Meadow HOA, while the individual owners are responsible for all other rear-yard and building maintenance. Residents have full access to the central green near the town homes. Proximity to the natural environment provides opportunities for birdwatching and other passive recreation.
